TO BE HONEST OR NOT, IS WHO YOU ARE THE🔥 THAT TAUGHT ME UNFORGETTABLY LESSON.

  1. INTRODUCTION

Honesty is the best Philosophy. It is easy to be dishonest , even when there is no need. It is easy to hate someone because they don’t do according to your wishes. What is worse is seeing someone ill treated and people being dishonest to that person.

This one goes to all communities. General community, Maskandi Community, HIP HOP Community, etc. Legends of music die because of dishonesty. I have seen many musicians die. Tupac, Bhekumuzi Luthuli, Mtukhela, and many more, the likes of BIG. These legends died out of dishonesty brought by hatred. The worst one was when Marvin Gaye died out of hatred, thus dishonesty.

The next story happened to me today. It has nothing to do with music at all. It is me and whether am honest or dishonest. It all began with :

  1. CIGARETTE
I was reluctant to join my wife to my sister’s to wash her hair. Yesterday, I had promised my father Nkebe aka Gqofile, that I will visit him that day. So, we went. There I was with cigarette on my mouth. We took a corner near Granny Madlamini and about 5 steps I threw the cigarette still burning.

We continued on our way and reached our destination. We talked with father while waiting for Cebile who was not there.

Eventually, she came with news. The 🔥 was burning bad coming towards sugarcane of Induna. I came out and saw the fire. Seeing that there was no wind coming towards sugarcane I relaxed. Soon I realised it was coming faster than I thought.

That made me panic and took action fast. I began defusing the fire. I took water containers. And an old blanket and tried my best putting out the fire. Cebile helped bring water containers. Mind you we were short of water. At that moment Gqofile was inside the burning field. That made me realise that he can be a victim of the fire. I told him to come out of the burning field. Which he did.

  1. THE FIRE
The fire was burning at the slow pace. I think it was because I had tried to contain it. At that moment I was very tired. Mind you I was working alone. Everyone realised how hot it was. No one even tried to lend a hand. Seeing that, Cebile tried help pouring water where it had not come to. She was done washing my wife’s hair.

It seemed we were losing the fight. There was little forest still burning small, but burning. I remembered Moses and the burning forest. I looked at my feet. I had taken off my flops as I thought they will get burnt.

What I did not realise is that I have burned myself. It did for sure. There was no more space to move without walking on the fire. Hot ashes, hot coals from sticks were burning me like hell.

This is when I realised I was defeated. No matter how I tried, there was nothing I can do. I decided to go home and make a call.

  1. HONESTY or DISHONESTY

When I reached home, I called Induna. Unfortunately, he was out of reach. This is why I made about five miscalls.

Realising that I don’t get him, I went to his wife. She called out as I was approaching. “Did they do it again to me?” I told her to wait until I came to her. I confessed. I said that, ” I threw the burning cigarette that burnt the dry grass. That’s how the fire started.”

She thanked me for being honest. She continued saying she thought people had done it again. I became aware of the situation going on.

It is a said thing when people do something wrong to someone. That one makes me said. I hated it actually.

It is all about hate. It bears dishonesty. Imagine people talking to you and hate you at the same time.

Anyway after that I went home. This time the fire had went into MaShozi’s sugarcane. I did not realise that at first. Just when I finished bathing, induna phoned. I started explaining myself again to him. “Don’t worry Makhanya. The good thing is that you were honest. By coming ahead and told straight up, you made me realise you are a good person. Don’t worry all is going to be good. After all this sugarcane would be prepared to go and make sugar.”

After that I called MaShozi and let her know. “Brother Makhanya of MaKhawula, don’t worry about it. The sugarcane would be cut and taken to make sugar. Thank you for being honest.”

This, I was not ready for. At the time the fire was burning, I had given up. I was ready to make any payment. The truth is I consulted my great grandfather Mbulawa inside the traditional kitchen. All he said was that, “all will work out.”

Belief is belief. All that matters is that I believe. My beliefs.

Music makes people happy

From old times

People always get together. When Together people sing as they performed things. This their source of happiness. It was their entertainment. It was part of their culture. The way they performed and dressed showed their philosophy.

Today we still see these performances. It is still part of people’s culture. Music, Dance and Clothing are all culture. The problem today we have moved up the ladder. We changed the way we wear. We no longer sing much. As such we don’t dance like we did.

We have many believes. The thing I love is that we all agree on one thing. A person that has walked on this earth dies and rise. This God shows us through Jesus. What does this tell us?

We are a product of someone biggest

Logic says you, me and them are all a product. We are here because our parents gave birth to us. They were a children our grand parents. Our great parents were children of our great grand parents. This goes back till we reach the greatest. That one is the One. The thing about the One is that he does not come out unnecessarily. Instead His Son is the one whom we see and talk to. This one gives us directions and how we should go about doing things. Yes others show up. That is because they want things done on their behalf. Sometimes they want things done not according to family accepted standards.

Music is always part of these occurrences

While long ago people sang, they were not aware of formal music structures. Somehow many people don’t know music as a formal topic. No matter how many songs they sing or produce. They still don’t understand the in and out of music.

As such I have written a small book on music theory. Connect to the link below and learn music for free.

If The World Sings, We…

Become happy and get soothed.

A. My Grand Father

In a week or two, my great grandfather told me to go and write because I am a writer. He even told me to draw because he knows that I can do it. I then decided to do this again because I thought I was done. When the world turn your back against your work you become sad and decide to quit. The truth is that, it is not world but the people who take care of our living. Most of our physical and soul problems come from them. To them there is nothing called abuse. When something needs to be published for, you get punished. If you listened and do as they asked while growing up, you became safe. Those around you thrive without knowing how they became successful.

My great grandfather was Mbulawa. He grew at Umbumbulu , Kwambovu. Mbovu is the eldest In the family. Or maybe I should say my knowledge goes as far as him. In their time they wore amabheshu and walked on foot. They rode horses.

Today, when Mbulawa talks about the horse, he is referring to the car. He was clean. But, he also was not afraid to get involved in a fight. Listening to Mbulawa Makhanya talk, one thing you feel in his voice is pride. He was proud to be Makhanya. He still is not afraid that he belongs to chieftaincy. The guy is outspoken. He loves his surname, Makhanya. He will go on and on about chieftaincy of our surname. He wants us to rebuild that legacy. He does not care about the gloom and glamour of the world today. I don’t know how many sons did he have. I know one:

Nkelele Makhanya. He had many names. Others say he is Snqindi. He was tall and yes handsome. Mbulawa calls him iBhunguka. That is because he left home to stay in Durban. He also says that he influenced:

Ngevane Makhanya to leave home to stay in Durban. Mbulawa does not like these actions as according to him, they led to the separation of home.

KwaMbovu. This was the sector that belonged only to Makhanya. People belonged together. They loved one another. They did things as one big family. I believe he wants to restore that reputation.

I write this to connect you to the person who told me to write. You wonder why am publishing music and talk about writing? That is because:

B. Music and writing hand in a glove.

Don’t worry about me saying I was told to write and draw. In fact music is written. To do all that you have to draw a plan of how you will reach the end of the song. This also includes planing the number of verses, chorus, etc. That is song arrangement.

I have been studying music under Busyworksbeats.com and Shaw Academy, AP State University. The Game, Mr King is a great teacher. In their website, there are many courses of music writing and editing including mixing and mastering. If you take your time and learn you become the greatest musician. Even people like Dre will refer you to these guys for music courses, music samples, etc.

It was Shaw Academy that took my music to another level. I learned first hand music engineering.

C. Elements of Music

There are notes, from C to B and Back to C. These notes together if put together make a harmonious sound. Take for instance C-E-G. This is a triad. It makes a harmonious sound. It can be interchangeable like E-G-C and lastly G-B-D. These notes put together also form a Scale.

You can say that these give you sound, harmony, texture, melody, rhythm, tempo and dynamics. These are elements of Music.

(i) Sound

Hitting any note will give you a sound. How you feel the sound depends on the instrument. Same notes sound differently on different instrument.

(II )Harmony

How you put together various notes will give you a triad, 7th, a 9th, 11th, 13th, 17th, etc. So long the notes are such that they sound good, we say they sound harmoniously. These are also known as chords.

(III) Melody

While chords are harmonic, melody scan be said to be a sing along. Mostly 5 notes that sound harmoniously will give you a melody.

(IV) Rhythm

How the music flows will give way to the rhythm of song.

(v) Tempo

The speed of the song is the tempo. How fast and how slow the song goes also work hand in hand with the rhythm of the song.

(vi) Dynamics

We said the different instruments will sound differently. Them and effects will give you ups and downs of music also known as dynamics of music.

(vii) Texture

I like to call the one the fabric of a song. How you feel it. Heavy or light.

Conclusion

Use all what I have given to you so far. Doing that, you will end up singing a song that makes us happy. A song soothes. A song that reminds us of our loved ones. A song that moves you according to tempo and its rhythm. A song that will sometimes cause sorrow because of the love that you miss.

Do you have any genre? Talk to us to help you make it reach the world.
